I found a few frequent player points and entered the sunday two grand. I came something like 250th for $2.I Played 0.02nl for a few hours and doubled it up even though every flop went against me. Apparently knowing that a guy is a fish isnt enough. He went all in preflop with 5 8, i had A10. A five and an 8 came out to beat me. Enough about bad beats because it happens to everyone. I have a new strategy for cash games at that level and it is to see a cheap flop, yes im raising with AA KK QQ AK, but everything else im limping in. More often than not no one raises and because they are calling stations when i make TPTK i usually double up. Anyway, micro stakes actually gives me a lot of confidence in my game. Instead of going for the originally planned route of sng's im sticking with cash games, the money is too easy. If anyone is reading i wonder what your strategy is for cash, i find myself sitting with the min at $1 and leaving when i reach $2. At least this way when the inevitable variance occurs it's not a full buy in of $5, then again im not maximising my potential profit, what do you think?

Hi, this is my first blog. I will start by telling you that i am a fish, i like to think im better, im sure everyone does, but the truth is i don't have a clue. I have been playing poker for three months now, i opened an account on pokerstars and began playing freerolls. I somehow managed to build my bankroll to $1.10 and progressed to 360 man $0.10 tourneys. I won one of those to get just over $8. I then played 6 max $6 sng's and got my roll upto $150. I thought i was a genius but the wheels started coming off. By this stage i was playing $13 six max sng's thinking i could crush them also. It went ok for a while but when i lost i couldnt stand losing so i played a $25 sng to recover losses. I lost that also and in pure frustration i played a $50 heads-up game.
The final hand from that really stands out. I had K10 on the button, i made a standard raise and was called. the flop came K 10 2. Now im a tricky player, so of course im checking there. Villain checks also, turn: 4. I decide to finally bet, pot is $180 and i bet $90 hoping to get called, it happens and the river brings a 5. pot is $360 and i bet 300 hoping to get called by a weaker pair of some sort. He reraises to $750 and i push all in only for him to instacall, he shows A3 to win the heads up.
As i said at the start im a fish. Anyway my roll then went on a boom and bust cycle peaking at around $60 but last night was at $30. I decided to play 0.50nl heads up. i sat with $20 and lost in about 5 hands when going all in with AQ against 44, obviously i lost. I have 0.10 in my account so i'll be playing freerolls again for some time, the point of this blog is that i hope to show that a fish can in fact be a winner, im going to employ strict bankroll management rules if i get any cash. I will begin by playing $1.75 18 man sng's as soon as my bankroll gets to a few $$. The difference being that i will continue playing at that level until i get to $120 before moving to $3 sng's.
I have never deposited and i hope to show that anyone can make money from nothing playing poker
